History

Saint Bernard School was founded in 1964. It was originally staffed by the Sisters of Mercy and lay women. The school was built to house two classes per grade level for students in grades 1 to 8. Throughout the years, the school added kindergarten, pre-kindergarten, and nursery classes. Special content classes were added to enrich the students’ learning.

In September 2015, Saint Bernard School transitioned to Saint Bernard Catholic Academy. We stand proudly on the traditions of the past and build for the future. Today, our school is staffed by 27 strong, Catholic Men & Women. Classes are offered for children age 3 to grade 8. In addition to the core academic subjects of Religion, English/Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science, we offer instruction in Spanish, Art, Music, and Physical Education. Students visit the Technology Lab, STEM Lab, and Library for further instruction on a weekly basis.
